SHEET CANE AND WOVEN MATERIAL

Samples: Whilst we are happy to send Free of Charge samples - any more than five samples prohibit us sending as a large letter & postage will need to be paid for in advance. Due to such HIGH demand of samples (& cost) these will usually take a couple of days to prepare & will be sent via 2nd Class Post.

 All Rattan darkens with age & starts off a "light" colour... we are unable to say that the sample will be an EXACT match to future orders.

For applications, for example Radiator covers, Screens etc... an open weave (French Cane or 6x6 Radio Weave) can be used... after soaking, this product will tighten, once secured properly to a frame.
 
All of the Close Woven Products MUST be glued to a hard surface.
 
Please ensure you order the appropriate product for your project as, once cut off the Roll, we are unable to accept returns for incorrect product/size ordered.

 

Where product is being suspended onto a frame (The open Weave products) you need to add approx. 5cm both width & length in order to attach.

 

The sheet Cane is widely used by Interior Designers for a vast amount of projects.

Used by builders & Joiners for Radiator covers, replacing damaged cane on modern chairs, wardrobe doors & table tops etc...etc...

 

 

 

French Cane or Rattan Webbing :    

Traditional 1/2"(1.25cm) hexagonal open weave pattern (1/2"Measurement is taken from the middle of one hole to the middle of the other) This machine made sheet cane is  suitable material for use as radiator covers. The cane, when soaked for 40 minutes in hot water and when stapled securely to a frame, will dry taut and will not sag with temperature changes. Once dry, it can be stained or simply spray-painted at a fraction of the cost of brass.
Other uses of sheet cane include screens, cupboard doors, panels and MODERN CHAIR SEATS, which do not have drilled holes where the cane is held. The cane is fixed into a 5mm wide groove by 4.5mm Centre Cane (This allows for 1/2mm for the French Cane), at £3.40p per 2-metre length or £26.50p per 1/2 Kg.(approx. 35 metres), or the appropriate size round centre cane (see Basket Cane).

   Rabannes:      Woven Raffia Matting, Easy to glue, natural Light yellow colour. Many uses : Table tops, Bedroom Furniture or wall coverings - this is HUGELY popular with Interior Designers... It is NOT, however, 100% opaque i.e.. if held up, there ARE parts that CAN be seen through...... if you require 100% "UNABLE to see-through", you should not use Rabannes... look at the Close Woven RATTAN webbing instead.
